I was born in Hawaii and returned there for my first duty station when I joined the Army. For my entire deployment to Iraq, I swore that I'd start learning ukulele if I made it through. Sure enough, I bought a $1000 G-String ukulele the day I returned and have played off and on ever since. I started with Roy Sakuma studios in Aiea and have since taken workshops and courses from great players including Lil Rev, James Hill, Del Rey, Aaron Keim, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer and many others at assorted ukulele festivals. I'm a member of the Greenbrier Optimistic Ukulele Players and teach at Warner Music School in Lewisburg, WV. I'm currently in level 2 of James Hill's Ukulele Initiative program for teachers.

Guitar and Bass TABS are more readily available online than ones for ukulele. I created this chart so that the user could figure out what a note was on a guitar TAB using the guitar fretboard diagram above, then find the corresponding note on the ukulele fretboard diagram. I created this chart so that the user could figure out what a note was on a guitar TAB using the guitar fretboard diagram above, then find the corresponding note on the ukulele fretboard diagram. Once the note is figured out and found on the fretboard, the user can copy it onto a blank ukulele TAB. If the guitar or bass notes are too low for ukulele to play, they can also be transposed to a higher key (D2 becomes D3, etc.). Bass lines on ukulele? Heck yes!!

This chart shows what notes and/or chords become once you slap a capo on a certain fret. Example: if you put a capo on the 2nd fret because you sing higher than the original song, a C chord shape becomes a D chord in sound.

This chart shows some of the different positions you can play the same chord. In my notation, sometimes the same spot is used for more than one chord so it may show one color with a different color ring. This means that spot is used in both positions. An empty ring just means its an optional note, such as with D7 and F7.
